Residency for tuition purposes in Colorado is determined by state law (Title 23, Article 7, of the Colorado Revised Statutes of 1973, as amended) and court decisions. These rules apply to all public colleges and universities in Colorado and may change over time.

A residency decision made by one Colorado college or university does not automatically apply to another institution. ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø must follow Colorado residency laws and can only make exceptions when specifically allowed by state law.

Newly Admitted or Readmitted Students

If you disagree with the residency decision made by the Office of Admissions, submit the before the end of your first semester of enrollment at ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø. If your residency status remains unchanged, you may petition for residency. Visit the Petition Process and Deadlines page for more information.

Continuing Students
